The name Loads of Books has been in my life for over years now. It started out with a passion for books when I decided I should have a book blog and connect with other book lovers. ‘Wow, I have loads of books!’ I thought, whilst staring at my overflowing bookshelf. Thus the name for my blog was born. 

Since then, Loads of Books has continued to grow and I to this day still share my love of books with a likeminded community. As my blog continued to grow, it became clear to me, it was more than a hobby, it was a passion that could turn into a career and what better name for my company than my already known blog name!

Make sure your manuscript is in the best possible shape it can be before submitting. Of course, there are always things that you may miss, but this way your editor can spend their time bringing out the best in your work. Make sure you read through your work, self-edit or even have a loved one read over it before submitting.

Each manuscript will require something different depending on what stage you are at in your writing journey. At Loads of Books we offer Proofreading, Copy Editing and Structural Editing. In order to work out what is best for you, Loads of Book’s can offer a free Editing Assessment consisting of a couple of pages of your work, as a sample of the editing and to determine the scope and cost of the job.

At this stage, Loads of Books is unable to ghost write manuscripts of a fiction nature.
However, editing is available for all genres.

Yes, you can, however, it can make the editing process more expensive in the long run. This is because the total word count isn’t defined making it hard for a final cost. Please get in touch If you would like a quotation and to discuss in more detail.

As a ghost writer, I work very closely with the manuscript throughout the whole process. I will do a final lookover the manuscript before putting it in the hands of a trusted editing partner. Because I work closely with to the manuscript, it is important to have an external person edit it to make sure everything is polished before sending back your manuscript ready to publish. This is costed into the ghost written quotation.

Loads of Books does not assist with publishing books. However, they work closely with both Green Hill Publishing and Author Freely who can be of assistance for any publishing needs.

Editing costs are typically dependent on each individual manuscript. When it comes to editing, we quote on a per word basis, unless the job is more complex. This will be determined in the Editing Assessment phase, however, our prices start at $0.02 per word for a proofread, and can go up to around $0.06 per word for a more complex edit. Similarly, for ghost writing, a cost is dependant on the manuscript and the needs of the author. However, for a basis, a 70,000 word manuscript could fall between $5,000-$7,000 per job*. Please get in touch If you would like a quotation and to discuss in more detail.

All jobs require a 50% deposit before starting the project. These deposits are non-refundable, unless the author has decided to not go ahead before work has begun. However, if Loads of Books feels like a refund is appropriate we are more than happy to accommodate and work out a solution that is best for both the author and the company.

In the case work has been completed and an author would not like to proceed, refunds are not permitted. If an author chooses to cease work mid-way through a project, Loads of Book will bill for the word completed thus far in comparison to the original per word cost (in terms of editing) and how many hours of work has been completed (in terms of ghost writing).
